Steve Jobs har gått ur tiden. Jag har själv aldrig haft någon större koll på honom (har rätt dålig koll på rätt mycket, kan man sammanfatta - inte har jag läst nåt av Tranströmer som får årets Nobelpris i litteratur heller), men en vän till mig la upp länken till följande tal som han höll 2005.

Har du en kvart över ska du lyssna på vad han säger. Det är det värt.
"Sometime life's gonna hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for work as it is for your lovers. Your work is gonna fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. And don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it."
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living with the result of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition; they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."
Tack, Steve Jobs, för de kloka orden. Jag ska försöka säga dem till mina barn om och om igen, på alla sätt jag kan hitta på och några till. Och inte minst, ska jag försöka leva efter dem mer än jag gör nu, för det tror jag är det mest effektiva sättet att säga dem på.
Stay hungry, stay foolish. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. Everything else is secondary.
